Position Summary
Ables Inc. is seeking a Service Manager to join our growing team. In this position, you will be responsible for all Service Technicians and Service Dispatchers and will take an interest in the quality of their work while leading the department to meet profit goals. The Service manager will be responsible for enhanced training for technicians, improved profit and complete customer satisfaction.
The Service Manager must be organized and able to work in a fast-paced environment while handing the responsibility of growing their department. Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
- Communicate with existing and potential new customers regarding their HVAC project needs.
- Ensure quality, profitability and timeliness of all service department production, billing, paperwork, quotes, etc.
- Effective supervision and efficient scheduling of service technicians to prevent call backs.
- Maintains adequate level of customer interaction and personal selling activities.
- Resolve customer disputes with regards to services performed.
- Visit jobs in progress to inspect the quality of work performed and to provide on-the-job training and technical support to field personnel.
- Maximizes manpower utilization and minimizes unallocated time for technicians.
- Ensures adherence to department procedures and standards by technicians, office personnel and dispatchers.
- Responsible for efficient flow of work, purchase orders, timecards, work orders, reports, and billings
- Tracks performance KPI’s on all technicians.
- Ensure that employees moral and retention are kept at a high level
- Must be able to coach and lead technician to encourage success
- Review work orders, invoices, and time reports for accuracy and to ensure efficient management of accounts.
- Ability to forecast department annually
- Must review all service invoices daily (Comparing timecards to invoices and Spot checking invoices)
- Order parts as needed
- Coordinate schedules with dispatchers
- Approve timecards weekly
- Report job progress and problems to Owners when necessary
- Make sure all service technicians are keeping their fleet clean, inside, and outside of the vehicle
- Make sure all technician vehicles are stocked with appropriate inventory
- Monthly sales leads
- Check on the status of billings and collections, weekly

Physical Demands and Work Environment
- This position works in the office environment. The office environment is controlled and maintained in a safe manner. Adherence to Safety Policy and Driving Safety Policy is vital.
- The physical demands for this position are light. Must be able to use standard office equipment such as telephone, computer, files, copier, scanner, etc. Occasionally lift/carry items up to 30lbs.
- Self-motivated and able to handle rapidly changing priorities and several tasks simultaneously. Must be able to respond to difficult situations with customers and co-workers with high level of professionalism. Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors and co-workers. Must be able to always follow safety guidelines. Must have ability to manage and lead effectively. Always have a good attitude for the best customer service, even when in a bad mood.
- Communicates and interacts with employees on all level in the office. Sets an example for employees in the company.
- The title will have high level of contact with customers and vendors and will be required to always maintain professional communication and appearance during work hours.
