Position Summary
The foreman has ultimate responsibility for the effective productivity of a job.
Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities
- Works in conjunction with the project manager to ensure job is completed
- Responsible for the performance of the crew and production level
- Assists jobsite workers with technical questions/problem solving
- Ensures appropriate submission of time reporting and handles employee issues
- Interacts with clients
- Ensures that work is done safely and in compliance with safety regulations
- Performs multiple jobsite duties with tools as required
- Fully comprehends electrical theory, NFPA 70e and the National Electric Code
Experience Requirements
- Electrical Foreman: 1 Year
- Experience as a high performing Journeyman and Lead
- Previous management experience or experience running jobs is a plus
- Current Drivers License and have reliable transportation
- High School Graduate or holder of GED
- Four years of previous electrical experience
- Comprehends drawings, prints and schematics
- Bend conduit by hand with benders
- Must be able to use all power tools, saw, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders and knockout punches
- Operate equipment in a safe manner
- Ability to use electronic devices and programs (tablet, phone, email, etc.) for communication and documentation
- Practices and comprehends safe work procedures per Company Policy
- Operate two handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammer
- Operate company trucks
- Reads and interprets maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprint and written instructions
- Operate and work from all types of lifts
- Work on energized circuits and equipment with Company Management approval as outlined in Safety Policy
- Receive material deliveries and check order for completeness
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year
- Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities
- Job requires employees to have personal tools with them at all times
- Work from all types of ladders and adhere to ladder safety protocols. Step ladders up to 14’ and 16’, “A” frame ladders and various sizes of extension ladders. Ability to carry and relocate up to 12’ step ladder by yourself
- Perform work at various heights (up to 90’) from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, cat walks or other areas
- Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics)
- Wear personal protective equipment, PPE (hard hat, work boots, safety glasses, gloves at all times) respirator when required
- Job requires repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers
- Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required and night shifts
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
- Lift up to 51 pounds
- Constantly moving feet
- Climb (ladders all types)
- Ability to work from heights
- Complete overhead work, full day assignments
- Transition from employee parking area or street into construction work areas and to gain access to all levels of building, even if they only means of access is by OSHA approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but acceptable for use
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected)
- Exposure to all elements inside and out
- Secure tools and materials from storage areas to complete assigned tasks
